chlordane

A toxic, viscous, colorless chlorinated organic chemical that is used as an insecticide and as a fumigant. The EPA has restricted use of this chemical except for subsurface termite control and on non-food plants. Symptoms of poisoning include convulsions and depression. Chronic exposure can cause liver damage and possibly cancer.
