cubic feet per second
A unit of measurement expressing rates of water flow or discharge. One cubic foot per second is equal to the discharge of a stream of rectangular cross section, one foot wide and one foot deep, flowing at an average velocity of one foot per second. (Equals approximately 450 gallons per minute.)
