intravenous pyelogram

IVP is an x-ray study of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra after a radiopaque (iodinated) dye is injected intravenously. The IVP dye is excreted by the kidney, thus enables one to identify the presence of malformations, infections, tumors, obstructions, and stones.
