sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is a slow chronic disease in which normal tissue is replaced by islands (granules) of epithelium and lymphoid cells (granulomas). Although over 90% of the cases of sarcoidosis, the lungs are affected, the disease can involve many other organs: skin, eyes, nerves, liver, kidney, or the heart. The cause of sarcoidosis is not known.
