subarachnoid hemorrhage

Subarachnoid hemorrhage is bleeding under the arachnoid space on the surface of the brain. Subarachnoid hemorrhage is usually due to rupture of an aneurysm or arteriovenous (a-v) malformation. It contributes to about 10% of stroke cases.
