testicular feminization syndrome

Testicular feminization syndrome is characterized by female external genitalia which may be incompletely developed. The affected individuals are genetically male, however. Because of a defect in the androgen receptor, target tissues are unresponsive to androgens. The inheritance is X-linked recessive.
