thyrotoxicosis

Thyrotoxicosis is a clinical condition in which the circulating level of free thyroxine (T3) is elevated. The most common form is Grave's disease. Others include: subacute thyroiditis and Hashimoto's disease. It may also occur as a side effect from taking drugs such as amiodarone.
