Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome is characterized by a short PR interval on the EKG and the appearance of a delta wave. This is due to the presence of accessory pathways between the atria and the ventricle -- bundle of Kent. Affected patients are prone to have supraventricular tachycardias (abnormally fast heart rate).
