Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is a syndrome consisting of peptic ulcer, elevated serum levels of gastrin (a stomach enzyme), and increased secretion of acid in the stomach. It is caused by gastrinoma (stomach tumor) which secretes gastrin. In about two-thirds of cases, these tumors are cancerous.
