actinomycin D
A relatively toxic antibiotic produced by the funguslike bacterium Streptomyces parvallum. It inhibits RNA transcription in eukaryotes and has antitumor properties, so it is often used in conjunction with other drugs in chemotherapy. Selected actinomycin D links:
