breast ultrasound
Ultrasound can differentiate cysts and solid masses of the breast when x-ray examination of the breast cannot. Ultrasound is often used to localize the mass with a marker (e.g. a wire) which the surgeon uses as a guide to cut out the mass for examination. Selected breast ultrasound links:
