This is the examination of the chest and its contents by x-ray. Several views may be taken to examine for bony structures of the ribs and vertebrae, soft tissue of the chest wall, the airways, the lungs, the heart and vessels, the esophagus and stomach, and the pleural spaces and the diaphragm.
