dermabrasion
This is a surgical procedure for the removal of scars on the face (often acne scars). It usually involves the application of a sclerosing agent on the face (e.g. mixture of pheno, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and croton oil). After a few minutes, a pneumatic powered drill fitted with a tungsten carbide grit-coated cylinder is used as a mechanical sander to lightly remove the superficial layer of the skin which has been softened by the sclerosing agent.
