fructose 6-phosphate
A phosphorylated six-carbon sugar formed in the second step of glycolysis by the action of phosphoglucose isomerase on glucose 6-phosphate. In the third step, fructose 6-phospate and ATP are used to create fructose 1,6-biphosphate, ADP and a free hydrogen with the aid of phosphofructokinase. Selected fructose 6-phosphate links:
