insulinlike growth factor
A type of growth factor found in blood serum which resembles insulin but which is not recognized by antibodies that will react with insulin. These growth factors are produced in response to growth hormone and behave like somatomedins (type of growth factor) in promoting growth. Selected insulinlike growth factor links:
