integrative suppression
Within a bacterium, the suppression of a chromosomal mutation which prevents the chromosome from being replicated, by a plasmid which has become integrated into the chromosome. Because the plasmid's presence in the chromosome suppresses the mutation, the chromosome is able to freely replicate again. Selected integrative suppression links:
