nicotinic acetylcholine receptors
One of two types of neurotransmitter receptors in the hippocampus (a part of the brain) that naturally respond to acetylcholine; this type will also respond to nicotine by bolstering the actions of other neurotransmitters and aiding memory performance, especially short-term memory.
