oximetry
Oximetry is a non-invasive method of measuring the oxygen saturation of the blood. A beam of light with defined wavelength is shined onto the tip of a finger, toe, or an earlobe. The absorption spectrum is monitored and oxygen saturation is estimated. Selected oximetry links:
