Reye's syndrome
Reye's syndrome is characterized by encephalopthy (degenerative changes to the brain) and fatty degeneration of the liver, kidney, and brain. It is associated with a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract and the use of salicylates (such as aspirin). Selected Reye's syndrome links:
