Advertising Policy

Overview

Healthboard displays two types of advertising: automated ads served through Google AdSense, and paid Featured Provider Listings purchased directly by healthcare providers. This policy explains both.

Google AdSense

Healthboard uses Google AdSense to display third-party advertisements. Google may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the web. These ads are clearly labeled as advertisements.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com or by visiting aboutads.info/choices.

AdSense ads are only loaded after you consent to advertising cookies via our cookie banner. For more information, see Google's advertising policies.

Featured Provider Listings

Healthboard offers a paid Featured Provider Listing subscription ($49/month) that places a provider's profile at the top of relevant search results and adds a “Featured” badge to their listing card.

  • Featured status affects position only — it does not influence review scores, ratings, or the content of a provider's profile.
  • Featured providers are shown first within their category or specialty results, randomized among other featured providers for fair visibility.
  • All featured listings are clearly labeled with a “Featured” badge.
  • Healthboard does not accept payment to alter, improve, or suppress provider reviews.
  • Provider information (credentials, specialties, insurance) is not modified based on featured status.

Editorial Independence

Paid advertising and Featured Listings do not influence Healthboard's editorial decisions. Search rankings for non-featured providers are determined by relevance to your search query, geographic proximity, and completeness of the provider's profile — not by commercial relationships.

Health Advertising Standards

All advertisements displayed on Healthboard must comply with Google AdSense program policies, which prohibit ads for unapproved pharmaceuticals, misleading health claims, and other prohibited health content. Healthboard does not accept direct ad placements for specific medical treatments, prescription drugs, or unverified health supplements.

Third-Party Advertiser Terms

Advertisements served by Google AdSense are governed by Google's terms of service. Healthboard is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of third-party advertisers. Clicking an ad will take you to a third-party site governed by their own policies.
