Effective Date: 6/6/2025
THIS NOTICE DESCRIBES HOW MEDICAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOU MAY BE USED AND DISCLOSED AND HOW YOU CAN GET ACCESS TO THIS INFORMATION. PLEASE REVIEW IT CAREFULLY.
HealthBoard is an informational tool and does not constitute a "Covered Entity" under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in most direct user interactions, as we typically do not store identifiable health information that would classify as Protected Health Information (PHI) after your session for core AI features.
However, we are committed to principles of data privacy and security aligned with HIPAA's spirit.
1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy
While HealthBoard's primary AI tools are designed not to store your PHI persistently, we understand the sensitivity of health-related data. Any data you input into tools like the Symptom Checker or Data Visualizer is processed for the immediate purpose of providing you with AI-generated insights and is not stored on our servers post-session.
2. Uses and Disclosures of Information
When you use our services, the information you provide is used as follows:
- For Service Provision: To operate the AI models and provide you with the requested analysis (e.g., possible conditions, data summaries).
- For Clinic Location: If you use the Clinic Locator, your location query is sent to a third-party service (e.g., Google Places API) to find nearby clinics. This interaction is subject to their privacy practices.
We do not use or disclose health-related information you provide for marketing, sale, or other purposes not directly related to providing the immediate service requested, except as required by law.
3. Your Rights Regarding Your Information
Even though we generally do not store PHI, we support your right to understand how your data is handled:
- Right to an Accounting of Disclosures: While we don't typically store PHI that would require such an accounting, you can inquire about how your general data interactions are processed.
- Right to Request Restrictions: You can choose not to use features that involve data you are uncomfortable sharing.
4. Our Responsibilities
We are committed to:
- Maintaining the privacy and security of any data you provide during your interaction with our services.
- Providing you with notice of our legal duties and privacy practices with respect to information.
- Notifying affected individuals following a breach of unsecured information, should such an event occur with any data we might temporarily handle.
5. Important Disclaimers
HealthBoard is not a healthcare provider. The information provided by our AI tools is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.
6. Changes to This Notice
We reserve the right to change this notice. We will make the revised notice available upon request and post it on our application.
7. Complaints and Contact Information
If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may file a complaint with us or with the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. To file a complaint with us, please contact: privacy@healthboard.com.
You will not be penalized for filing a complaint.
